Review: The Wolf and the Wildflower by Stacy Reid

Synopsis USA Today bestselling author Stacy Reid’s addictive tale of two lost people who are found…by each other. London is buzzing with the news that James Winters, the Duke of Wulverton—thought lost at sea a decade ago—survived in the harsh wilderness of the Yukon. Now he’s been returned to his family, his responsibilities, and a nightmarish world of artifice and noise. He has three weeks to become a refined, elegant duke for the Queen…or doom the entire family to ruin and scandal. Promising psychologist Jules Southby knows a lot about disguises. She’s secretly been living as a boy since birth, enjoying the freedoms of men and knowing little about how to behave like a woman. When she meets the alluring duke, she’s unprepared for his raw, masculine beauty and icy intelligence…or that he can see through her darkest secret. Jules has very little time to transform the duke into a true semblance of an English gentleman. Yet his very presence seems to unravel her in every way. Their ...

Review: Ten Rules for Marrying a Duke by Michelle McLean

Synopsis Bookish Arabella Bromley never gave a fig for society’s rules—until her sister ran off with a man below her station. Now Arabella is desperate to restore her family’s ruined reputation to favor amongst the ton. She’ll have to marry quickly and well. But in order to carry off her plan, Arabella needs a duke… and she has just the rakish fellow in mind. The Duke of Whittsley has an ungentlemanly tendency to disregard the rules. Unfortunately, a sense of mischief doesn’t excuse a high-ranking noble from family duty—especially where it concerns producing a son. And that’s where he can’t quite resist Arabella’s distinctly outrageous plan: if he saves her family, she’ll give him an heir. Now the deal’s been struck. They have one year to achieve their goals and ten iron-clad rules to keep them on track. Like long, scorching kisses and ensuring they’re both exquisitely satisfied. And the only thing that could ruin their plan is the one thing they never planned on: love. Add to Goodread...

Review: The Dating Dilemma (Mile High Firefighters #2) by Mariah Ankenman

Synopsis Lexi’s Reminders * Work. * Don’t think about your birthday tomorrow. Or debt, your crappy apartment, and nonexistent social life. * Re-stock wine and ice cream because that’s coming. * Die in a raging blaze of humiliation when the super-hot and very delicious fireman waiting in your office is not in fact the strip-o-gram birthday present you suspected. * Reschedule the fire safety inspection you 100 percent failed because of said humiliation. * Figure out how you, in fact, agreed to fake dating Mr. Not a Strip-O-Gram Fireman to help him with a bet. * Oh yeah, and do not fall for this guy. Seriously, they call him One Night O’Neil. Red flags all over the place. * Remember, this is fake dating, even though his very talented, very real lips are doing some sexy things you definitely like. * Realize bending one tiny rule can’t be that bad, can it? * Except bend too far, and something breaks. Something you can’t get back. Add to Goodreads Shelf Review It’s a fun, lighthearted, and a...

Review: Escaping Eleven (Eleven Trilogy #1) by Jerri Chisholm

Synopsis In Compound Eleven, the hierarchy of the floors is everything. My name is Eve Hamilton, and on my floor, we fight. Which at least is better than the bottom floor, where they toil away in misery. Only the top floor has any ease in this harsh world; they rule from their gilded offices. Because four generations ago, Earth was rendered uninhabitable—the sun too hot, the land too barren. Those who remained were forced underground. While not a perfect life down here, I’ve learned to survive as a fighter. Except my latest match is different. Instead of someone from the circuit, my opponent is a mysterious boy from the top floor. And the look in his eyes tells me he’s different… maybe even kind. Right before he kicks my ass. Still, there’s something about him—something that says he could be my salvation... or my undoing. Because I’m no longer content to just survive in Eleven. Today, I'm ready to fight for more than my next meal: I'm fighting for my freedom. And this boy may j...
