She seems innocent enough, but Alex is determined to expose her…by thoroughly seducing the lovely and fiercely intelligent heiress himself. What he assumed would be just one simple kiss erupts into something wild, uncontrollable, and much too public. Now the duke must save her reputation with a betrothal…little knowing that his charming Princess harbors a ...

Review: The Prospector's Only Prospect by Dani Collins

Blurb After eight days in a cramped stagecoach, divorcée Marigold Davis already regrets her decision to come to Denver City to marry. She certainly didn’t realize she’d signed up for mosquitoes, mud, and scores of rough men eyeing her like a hot meal on a cold day. But with her life in Kansas all but incinerated, Marigold needs a husband. Even if she’s  not  the bride that gold prospector Virgil Gardner is expecting… Virgil Gardner has a reputation as a grumpy hard-ass, and he’s fine with it. He’s also no fool—this is not the woman he agreed to marry. It takes a tough-as-nails woman to survive the harshness of a Rocky Mountain gold claim, and this whiskey-eyed, gentle beauty is certainly  not  the type. Now it’s just a matter of how quickly she’ll quit so he can find a wife who will stick. Someone who can care for the only thing he values even more than gold–his children. But Marigold isn’t about to give in. Cramped in a one-room shack. Berry picking turned into a be...

Review: Cinderella and the Duke by Lydia Drake

Synopsis Miss Julia Beaumont has exactly  one   night to find herself a husband… The Weatherford Ball is the last chance Julia Beaumont has to escape the clutches of her horrid stepmother. Any potential husband will do—rich, poor, even a reasonably well-groomed walrus. But all of Julia’s matrimonial chances are completely obliterated…thanks to the actions of an infuriating and utterly rakish duke. Gregory Carter, Duke of Ashworth, would never risk his cherished bachelorhood by flirting with marriage-starved debutantes. But one look at the luscious and refreshingly clever Julia, and he simply can’t resist a stolen kiss—scandal be damned. Then just as things start getting deliciously interesting, the lady flees…leaving only a slipper behind. And it must have been one dandy of a kiss. Because now Julia has proposed to  him . After all, the lady needs a husband, and this roguish duke will certainly do. It’s simply a matter of making him the perfect scandalous offer… Ad...

Review: The Duke's Rules of Engagement by Jennifer Haymore

Synopsis Some matches are made in hell… Joanna Porter loves being one of London’s hottest up-and-coming matchmakers. But her heavenly vocation is about to turn into a nuptial nightmare—thanks to the Duke of Crestmont. He’s as handsome as he is insufferable and  obsessed  with all things proper. Except, of course, the impossible-to-please duke refuses all of her most eligible ladies…confirming his status as a complete and utter pain in her petticoats. The Duke of Crestmont can’t believe he needs a matchmaker—let alone this spitfire of a woman whose kissable mouth and dancing, impertinent gray eyes tease him ruthlessly. Author Spotlight: Jazalyn

Hollow: A Love Like a Life A ghost spirit of dark's universe falls in love with a ghost spirit of light's universe, and while they cannot meet, for they wander around separate realms and spacetimes, they live their love through a secret and sacred interaction. Add to Goodreads Shelf Review It's a beautiful collection of poems about spiritual love. Some poems have a sad, dark tone while some are positive and uplifting. But mostly, they are about a love that is hard to return. Some lines resonated with me a lot and overall, I enjoyed the book. I'm glad I got a chance to read it. I rarely read poetry and only write inspirational and thought-provoking poems. So, this book is definitely a unique experience for me. I have this personal opinion that you can only fully appreciate poetry when you find it relatable. I want to thank Jazalyn for proving me wrong. I would definitely recommend this book to poetry lovers. Rose: Future Heart A beautiful and charismatic but blowsy and l...

Review: Much Ado About Nothing by Eva Devon

Synopsis As far as William Easton―the Duke of Blackheath―is concerned, love can go to the devil. Why would a man need passion when he has wealth, a stately home, and work to occupy his mind? But no one warned the duke that a fiery and frustratingly strong-willed activist like Lady Beatrice Haven can also be a stunning, dark-haired siren who tempts a man’s mind, body, and soul. Lady Beatrice is determined to never marry. Ever. She would much rather fight for the rights of women and provoke the darkly handsome Duke of Blackheath, even if he does claim to be forward-thinking. After all, dukes―even gorgeous ones―are the enemy. So why does she feel such enjoyment from their heated exchanges? But everything changes when Beatrice finds herself suddenly without fortune, a husband, or even a home. Now her future depends on the very man who sets her blood boiling. Because in order to protect his esteemed rival, the Duke of Blackheath has asked for Beatrice’s hand, inviting his once-enemy into hi...

Review: Treasured Trouble: A Collection of Short Stories from the Treasure Chronicles by Jordan Elizabeth

Synopsis Zoom back into the world of the Treasure Chronicles with this collection of short stories. Clark, Amethyst, and the Treasure gang return with new adventures. Strap on your goggles. Lace up your corset. It's time for a steamy ride. Add to Goodreads Review I loved this short story collection. It made me feel nostalgic for two of my favorite fictional characters ever written; Clark and Amethyst. It was interesting to know a little more about their childhood and life through these short stories. Each story is well written and adds something to the overall narrative. I especially loved the last one, which takes us into the future rather than the past. In any case, it has been fun reading this book. If you are a fan of Treasure Chronicles, this is a must-read. But even if you have read previous books, you can read this and enjoy it for what it is; short anecdotes from the lives of these fictional characters. You can always read Treasure Chronicles after this or before, whichever...
