My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century (My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century #1) by Rachel Harris

"Description"
On the precipice of her sixteenth birthday, the last thing lone wolf Cat Crawford wants is an extravagant gala thrown by her bubbly stepmother and well-meaning father. So even though Cat knows the family’s trip to Florence, Italy, is a peace offering, she embraces the magical city and all it offers. But when her curiosity leads her to an unusual gypsy tent, she exits . . . right into Renaissance Firenze.

Thrust into the sixteenth century armed with only a backpack full of contraband future items, Cat joins up with her ancestors, the sweet Alessandra and protective Cipriano, and soon falls for the gorgeous aspiring artist Lorenzo. But when the much-older Niccolo starts sniffing around, Cat realizes that an unwanted birthday party is nothing compared to an unwanted suitor full of creeptastic amore. Can she find her way back to modern times before her Italian adventure turns into an Italian forever?

"Review"
This is a super cute time travel fiction, where Cat is transported to sixteenth century Italy and she must first fulfill her destiny to find her way back to the present day.
Cat is tired of being judged because of her mother's actions. She hates crowds and doesn't like the fact that her soon to be stepmother wants to throw a sweet sixteenth birthday party for her when she wants to spend it with her father. So it was a good thing when she escaped the upcoming party and ended up in the past. There she learned to make friends, how to open up to people and had her first boyfriend. But things started to get crazy when her uncle arranged her marriage to someone quite older than her and there was no way to back out without hurting her new found family. The only solution was for her to get back to the present, although then she will also be leaving her cousins and Lorenzo but her father must be worried too. The problem was she had no clue how to go back in time.
In the end she did find that Gypsy who transported her back and things started to get better because she had finally learned to open her heart to people and trust them. Now she was not as socially awkward as before, she had a friend and her soon to be stepmother doesn't seem all that bad. All in all her adventure had taught her some much needed lessons and things started to look up.
This firs book in My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century is really a super sweet, imaginative and a pure delight. It ended on a cliffhanger but in a good way which is not frustrating, only build up anticipation for the next book.
