Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy #6) by Richelle Mead

Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6)

"Blurb"
They come first.

My vision was growing dimmer, the blackness and ghosts closing in. I swore it was like I could hear Robert whispering in my ear: The world of the dead won't give you up a second time. Just before the light completely vanished, I saw Dimitri's face join Lissa's. I wanted to smile. I decided then that if the two people I loved most were safe, I could leave this world.

The dead could finally have me.

Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules. She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir's Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardians to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose - for a crime she didn't even commit. She's in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She'll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose's life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back...and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your whole life is about saving others, who will save you?

Join Rose, Dimitri, Adrian, and Lissa in Last Sacrifice, the epic, unforgettable finale to Richelle Mead's international #1 bestsellingVampire Academy series.

This is the last book in Vampire Academy series. I am a little disappointed. It was exactly how I had expected it to end but not the way I had hoped it would. And all that progress and growing up Rose did in last few books kind of reversed. Right now I quite hating her. And I am not happy with her happy ending.

Dimitri was brought back by Lissa of all people. She was brave and with Christian's help, did what she knew she should. She showed the strength of her character and love for Rose. Dimitri is now full of guilt and grief. He is unable to face Rose after what he did to her in Russia and due to that reason refused to be anywhere near her. Rose is of course heart broken. She still loves him and she knows that. Adrian knows that too and asked her what she wanted, but did she break up with him? The answer is, no she didn't. Because she is selfish. She has no regard for his feelings and since Dimitri is not talking to her so definitely she needs someone to pass time. As I said before this is the part I absolutely hate. I would have liked it a little better if the author had, at the very least, made her somewhat confused about her own feelings. She is not. She loves Dimitri but still she stays with Adrian and well you can imagine where that's heading......

The rest was just the same like other books in the series. I liked Sydney's role in this one. She is one of my favourite secondary characters. And I am happy to know that she is main character in Bloodlines, a Vampie Academy's spin-off series. Which I am planning to read just out of curiosity. Also I want to know what happens to Adrian. Although I do not like Jill at all and she will also have main role in Bloodlines. I just hope that she grows up and stop being so self righteous. The way she interfered with Lissa and Christian's relationship was uncool and out of line. I hope she doesn't become another Rose Hathaway.

P.S. I gave this book a 4-star because I liked the series as a whole, regardless of some bad parts. :)
