Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy #3) by Richelle Mead

"Blurb"
It's springtime at St. Vladimir's Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn't been feeling quite right. She's having dark thoughts, behaving erratically, and worst of all... might be seeing ghosts.

As Rose questions her sanity, new complications arise. Lissa has begun experimenting with her magic once more, their enemy Victor Dashkov might be set free, and Rose's forbidden relationship with Dimitri is starting to heat up again. But when a deadly threat no one saw coming changes their entire world, Rose must put her own life on the line - and choose between the two people she loves most.

In this third book we learn more about "shadow-kissed" Rose. As Liss's and Rose's worst enemy Victor had said, no one returns from death without it leaving a mark on their souls, changing them for good. That was what had happened to Rose. When Liss had brought her back from the brink of death shadows kissed her. She had now a darkness within her and the more she encountered death- like killing Strigoi- the more of its effects would surface. For example, she started seeing Mason's ghost but no one believed her. They thought that stress had made her hallucinate but she knew what she saw and she hoped she was not going crazy. She still felt guilty for his death....

On the other hand things were going well with Liss and Christian. She also started practising magic again. With Adrian's help she was learning new ways to use spirit. I really liked Adrian's character a lot. He was fun and interesting to read about. A lot like Rose in many ways. He seemed quite interested in Rose but knew that Rose was in love with Dimitri and he was willing to wait and see how things went with those two. Both him and Rose's encounters were funny and I enjoyed their banters.

Rose and Dimitri's relation also moved forward in this book. It seemed that they still might get their happily ever after despite all the things going against them. But things didn't go as expected and there was a slight- OK not slight a very big twist in the story- in a battle against Strigoi Dimitri was turned into on of them....
As I said before this series is getting better with each book I read. Its a definite 5-star read. I cannot wait to read more about Rose and how she is going to handle this new deli ma.
