Review: A Veil of Glass and Rain (Special Edition) by Petra March

Synopsis

“Delicate and resilient. Like you.”
Brina and Eagan meet for the first time when she's nine and he's fourteen. They like each other from the very beginning, though their bond isn't immediate, but it grows over the years. What links them is the fact that their parents are photographers and are extremely devoted to their work and to each other; so much so that both Brina and Eagan have to learn how to take care of themselves from a very young age. Despite their differences, age, gender, nationality - Brina is Italian and Eagan is American - they find comfort in their growing friendship.
Then Brina becomes a teenager, and her feelings for her friend start changing and deepening. New desires stir within her. As soon as Brina realizes how those feelings complicate her friendship with Eagan, she runs away from him.
A few years later, Brina is twenty and Eagan is twenty-five, they find one another once again.

5-Stars Review

This book is amazing. I loved reading it. It is such a sweet and touching story about two people who are deeply in love. It captures their feelings and emotions perfectly. A beautifully written romance between two best friends. They crossed the bridge from friendship to falling in love and the author has portrayed their journey.
Book is written in first person view. We get to see things from both Brina's and Eagan's perspectives.
Brina and Eagan first meet as kids. Their parents are photographers and friends. They travel a lot while the kids stay behind. In a way they both  had lonely lives. So it was easy for them to form a connection. Two of them became close friends. They are always their for each other. But as Brina grows up things start to change. At first they are unable to accept it and drift apart. After staying away from each other for some years they once again get united when Eagan starts a job in Italy. He is in love with Brina but is waiting for the right time to make his move. She, on the other hand, has changes a lot since they parted ways. But she is still in love with him so the real challenge is whether they will complete each other or simply make life more difficult together. They must overcome their fears to be together and have a happy life.
The story revolves around their lives, emotions and actions that drew them closer. I loved the way its written and also all the characters around them. It is a must read for romance lovers.
