Review: Hidden in Lies (Lies and Truth #1) by Rachael Duncan

Hidden in Lies (Lies and Truth, #1)

Synopsis

Who needs love when you have money?
This has been my motto. This is who I am. Who I’m expected to be.
All of that changed when he walked into my life and made me question everything. As my personal security guard, I can’t escape him or the way he makes me feel.
He makes me laugh.
He makes me second guess my choices.
He makes me want more from life.
I hide in a bed of deception to disguise myself. It used to be enough, but now I’m not so sure.
Can I sacrifice those who depend on me for my own happiness?
I’m Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
I’m a Senator’s wife.
And I hate my life.

4-Stars Review

An interesting book about batrayal and lies. It is a good read, full of hate, love, lies and mystery. Elizabeth is married to a senator. Her mother always told her that financial security is the key to happiness but she is not happy. Although she always knew that she will marry for money but she never envisioned that her husban will be so cruel. Now she is stuck in an abusive marriage with no way out.

When there seems to be a threat on senator's propert, Alex enters the picture. He is assigned to keep Elizabeth safe. Soon both he and Elizabeth get to know each other well. They are both attracted to each other and it seems that keeping away is very difficult. A lot is depending on both of their shoulders, things they cannot share with each other but also cannot leave behind. By the end of this book some lies are uncovered but for full reveal we have to read book 2, which is releasing on 19th June.
