He expected her to recognize him.
He expected her to be seduced by his charms.
He expected her to fall for him.
Expectations are a funny thing …
When his parents named him Herbert Lincoln James, they already had expectations that Linc would attend an ivy league university and go into politics. Linc didn't. As captain of his swim team, he was expected to win the big relay to carry his swim team to the state championship for the first time in decades. Linc didn’t. Society expected him to walk past her. He couldn’t.

She expected him to see through her.
She expected him to make her into a joke.
She expected him to be cruel.
Expectations are a funny thing …

Alexandria Sure is from Michigan and adores her supportive family, her two rescue pups, and her mighty Spartans. Her coffee obsession leads her to writing in local coffee shops where characters come alive between salted caramel lattes and large cups of "cold brew extra cream two Splenda," which are usually on the counter when she walks in because the baristas know her car. (Thanks, Biggby!)
When she is not writing, she spends a great deal of her time perfecting her craft. She is an active member of Capital City Writers Association and attends several writing conferences each year.
Sure's first novel, Before Him Comes Me, is an unconventional romance of self-discovery, described by readers as "the first BDSM book with no sex."

Review

It's an interesting story, but not what I expected though. Still I liked it well enough. Linc and Alexis are two people who are most unlikely to fall in love. Linc is an athlete and spends most of his time in swimming pool. Alexis is total opposite, she spends most of her time in a coffee shop reading, and also she is larger than most women. Someone like Linc can't possibly find her attractive...

But he does. Linc can't seen to get her out of his mind. She is all he thinks about from the day he heard her laugh. She is so different from all those girls he has dated, and the ones who want to date him. Now he must convince her to go out with him, be with him, because he can't seem to function properly without her in his life...

Alexis likes Linc but she also knows that he is just passing time with her. His friends are all out of town and it's cool to hang out with him for now. She knows once his friends return he will disappear. Or may be she will disappear before he does... after all she has to protect herself from getting hurt. She can't be "charity" of anyone.

I think that the real story hasn't started yet. But when it does it'll be awesome. :) So far I enjoyed reading about Linc and Alexis. Both characters are great. I just didn't like to be so much inside Linc's head though. That was disconcerting at times. Other than that it's a great read.
