Review: The Soccer Player and the Single Mom by Kyra Jacobs

The Soccer Player and the Single Mom

Synopsis

For most women, working for a sexy soccer star would be a dream come true. All except single mom Felicity Shaw. She has no interest in playing personal assistant for a stubborn, injured playboy—no matter how nice his abs are. But with bills piling up and mouths to feed, she can’t say no to the job.
That’s when it gets interesting.
The last thing Scott Gillie wants or needs is a persistent and entirely too distracting PA while he’s recuperating in his small hometown. Unfortunately, it’s not up to him. Then Felicity and her son end up temporarily moving in—all thanks to his meddlesome grandmother. Now the temptation is right across the hall and it’s driving Scott crazy.
His only option is to fight fire with fire.
He never expects Felicity to do the same.

Review

It is a very sweet and romantic novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun read.
Felicity is a working single mom but lately, she has been experiencing the worst luck ever. First, the factory where she works closes unexpectedly and without any warning. Then, her building caught fire and now not only she is out of a job but she also needs a place to stay. So, when she is offered a job as a personal assistant to an arrogant soccer player she has no other choice but to accept.
Scott is not happy that his agent hired someone as his assistant. Although he is recovering from an injury he still thinks that he can manage on his own. Besides, it is not like he has ever had an assistant before. Why would he need one now? So, his plan is to make Felicity leave as soon as possible. Unfortunately for him, she is in no position to turn down a job offer. It seems that for the time being they are both stuck with each other.
What started as a very difficult professional relationship soon turned into something much more. The only problem is that Scott is not here to stay and Felicity has her son to think about. But both plan to have a good time for as long as it lasts.
It is a very well-written novel and I loved all the characters, especially Scott's grandmother, Edna is simply an amazing woman. Felicity cousin is also cool. All in all, it is a great read and a highly entertaining story.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.
