Review
This is a great read. If you enjoy historical romance then you must read it. I loved every second of this story. Both main characters are well-written and amazing. It is well-paced and ends well too. So, all in all, a very entertaining book.
Cam does not want any responsibility of an unwanted ward but he is stuck with Lady Bridget. The best thing he can think of to do is to marry her off as soon as possible. After all how hard could it be? He had married off both of his sisters so this won't be any different. The only trouble is, where his sisters wanted to get married, Lady Bridget does not. She hated the very idea of it and told him clearly that she would not marry anyone. All she wants is to get her inheritance and help women who are suffering at the hands of men. Soon, Cam will realize that saying no to her is not as easy as he thought. He is oddly drawn to his unwanted ward and can't seem to think straight where she is concerned.
Lady Bridget wanted an independent life. Her inheritance is substantial but her father had messed up everything by leaving an unexpected will. Now, she must wait until she is three and twenty to inherit or else she must get married. But if she married than her husband will control everything and she would become dependent on him. She can't wait either, especially because Lord Campbell does not seem to respect her wishes of staying single. In the end, the choice might be taken from her altogether.
Two people who think they don't want marriage, both are stubborn and determined and have kind souls, in other words, a match made in heavens. I thoroughly enjoyed Cam and Bridget's story. It is quite a gripping tale of how misguided intentions can lead to happy endings.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.
