Review: Greed (The Deadly Seven #2) by Lana Pecherczyk

Greed (The Deadly Seven, #2)

Synopsis

Crime rages in Cardinal City. The fanatical Syndicate’s answer is to be judge, jury and executioner, even if that means destroying half the world to eradicate sin. The only thing standing in their way is a family of fearless vigilantes known as the Deadly Seven.
Griffin Lazarus’s restraint is notorious within his superhero family, the Deadly Seven. His mastery over the sin of Greed is second to none. What they don’t know, is a shameful secret drives his discipline and one slip could mean fatal consequences for anyone close to him. When he’s forced to work with a beautiful, feisty reporter poking around his personal life, his control swiftly unravels. Everything about her throws his beliefs into chaos. She’s arousing, loud and infuriating, and craving her could be his undoing—or his redemption.

Lilo Likeke, an altruistic reporter for the Cardinal Copy, is hunting the story of a lifetime. Who are the Deadly Seven, where did they come from, and why are they here? If she can nail her unicorn story, she’ll finally prove her apple falls far from her corrupt family tree. When her mobster father is kidnapped, and she’s drawn into his web of chaos, she soon learns you can’t outrun your past, but you can choose your family. Trusting the man behind the mask might kill her story, but it also might save her heart.

With the fanatical Syndicate breathing down their necks, none of it could matter if they don’t live to see another day, and Griffin has no intention of losing the woman he covets, even if that means embracing bedlam…

If you like your superhero movies and TV shows, and your paranormal romance band of brothers and fated mate books, then you'll fall head over heels with the tortured heroes and sassy heroines of The Deadly Seven.

Review

I loved this book so much that it has given me a serious book hangover. Now, where am I going to find something as epic as this? Since I have read and loved the previous two books in the series, I already love the characters. They are all amazing and I enjoy how Lazarus siblings interact with each other. Lilo Likeke is one of the new characters introduced in this book. She is a perfect mate for Griffin Lazarus. These two really compliment each other and the chemistry between them is off the charts hot. So, the romance side of the side is as good as the action side of it.

Griffin Lazarus embodies the sin of greed. He is the only one of his siblings who has learned to control himself in order to keep a balance between greed and generosity. He cannot depend on something as uncertain as finding a mate because things get ugly when people like him lose control. The abilities they have are a curse and Griffin needs to be in control.

Lilo Likeke hates controlling men. It seems that Griffin is just like every other man who thinks he can control women. But she refuses to be controlled. He will have to learn to accept that or she is done. She is a reporter to whom nothing matters more than the truth. Learning about the Deadly Seven is something she has always looked forward to. She wants to be the one who reveals their true identities and the real motives behind their actions. Unfortunately, she is soon going to realize that reality is far worse than a comic book and danger surrounding them is very much real.

Lilo and Griffin and both fighting battles both external and internal. But can they trust each other completely or is it too much of a risk?
I can't wait to see what this series has in store for us next. I'm sure it will be something just as amazing as this.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
