Review: Stuck With You by Christina Mandelski

Stuck with You (The First Kiss Hypothesis, #3)

Synopsis

When Caleb Gray heads to the Texas coast to mentally prepare for a future he isnā€™t sure he wants, the last person he expects to see is Catie Dixon. Yeah, their mothers have been planning their wedding since they were born, but he and Catie are most definitely not friends. He canā€™t see her as anything but the annoying kid who followed him everywhere. Except, itā€™s really bothering him that everyone is staring at her in that bikiniā€¦

Catie got over her crush on Caleb ages ago. So why canā€™t she see past his ripped body or how unsettled he seems? Sheā€™s got her own problems, though. Her future has been set for years and now sheā€™s dreaming of pulling the plug. A week at their familiesā€™ beach house is just what she needs to pull herself together, and she has no intention of letting Caleb back into her heart...which would be a whole lot easier if heā€™d put on a shirt.

But a forced week of togetherness full of beach parties, waterslide mishaps, bonfires, and roller coasters sparks more than an understanding. What do you do when the person standing in the way of your future is the one person you grew up hating...but now donā€™t?

Review

It's a sweet and romantic story where two childhood friends and teenage frenemies fall in love. It's very well-written and I loved both the main characters very much.

Caleb is starting college soon. He is going to study business and take over his family's business someday. His future is all set. He has made his commitment and it doesn't matter that his heart wants something else entirely. This is why he decides to stay at their family's beach house for a week and sort out his thoughts. The house is co-owned by their family friends. As he reaches the beach house he finds out that Catie is already there with her friends.

Catie had no idea that Caleb would be at the beach house too. She had gone there without telling anyone just to have fun before her senior year at school started. Now, Caleb is there and he is definitely going to tell her parents. So, she finds a perfect excuse and it is decided that they can both stay there while Caleb looks after her and her friends. She hates the thought. It's not like she is a kid or something. But they are stuck now and she plans to have fun no matter what. She is also going through a tough phase and trying to figure out her future. Caleb only complicates things. Will they both survive a week together or are they going to get on each other's nerves every time they are in the same room? Only time will tell...

I enjoyed reading this story and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good YA novel.
P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.
