Review: Betting on Love by Jennifer Hoopes

Betting on Love (The Ellis Family Saga, #2)

Synopsis

Whitney Carroll is back home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee after divorcing her low-down, cheating husband. First thing on the to-do list: Get a job. Second thing: Just say no to men. Third thing: Don’t fall for the boss. One out of three’s not too bad, right?

For Sam Ellis, his to-do list is always work, work, work, trying to keep his family’s legacy alive. Now, out of concern, his siblings bet he can’t keep a girl happy for thirty days, and if he loses he’s out as CEO. No problem, he can fake a relationship. And he knows just who to ask...his new man-vegan assistant.

Yet Whitney’s sexy boss—secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is definitely NOT boring, and their connection is undeniable. But when a disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to decide if he’s willing to trade in his job for his heart.

Review

This is the kind of story where you are bound to fall in love with the characters. I really liked each and every one of them, but of course, the two lead characters are my favorite. I think that Sam and Whitney are perfect for each other. Through in a family feud and it's perfection... I enjoyed every single minute of it. It was one of those books for me which you simply can't put down once you start reading.

Whitney is back in her home town after a divorce. She is picking up the pieces of her broken heart when she meets Sam. He is handsome, rich and irresistible. What more, he might be able to give her what she wants most at the moment... a job. The only problem is that there is a feud between their families and her extended family isn't going to be happy about their association. Still, she must think of herself...

Sam is tired of his siblings always telling him to take a break. When they cornered him with an unusual bet he has no option but to oblige and he plans to win no matter what. He can pretend to be in a relationship for thirty days. No big deal, right? The fact that he actually admires Whitney is the icing on the cake.

Soon, the two of them are going to realize that things don't always go as you envision. Will this be a good thing for them or not... only time will tell.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.
