Synopsis
Kennedy Martin is shocked when her ex calls days before his wedding, expressing serious second thoughts. Doesn’t he see his fiancée's actually the glaze to his doughnut? Now she’s got no choice but to crash his wedding and convince the man he’s with the right woman.
Instead, she crashes into the absolute last man she ever wanted to see: Maverick Owens, her old college nemesis. Maverick is still as awful, infuriating, and just The Worst as ever—even if he looks way too sexy in his cowboy hat. And of course he’s convinced she’s actually at the seaside ranch to ruin the wedding.
Now the only way to get some face time with the groom and save this marriage is to participate in all sorts of pre-wedding events…with Maverick. Stuck on a canoe, making small-talk at cocktail hour, and even a hoedown with her worst enemy? This just might be the longest week of her life…
Review
I loved this sweet, emotional, and heartwarming contemporary romance novel. It is absolute perfection. The characters, the story, the setting, and the chemistry between characters; everything is beautifully done. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend to all romance fans. You probably don’t want to miss it. ;)
Kennedy is one of those people who can’t stand by and let a friend make the biggest mistake of his life. So, crashing a wedding is no big deal when she is helping someone in need. She must make sure that her ex, who is a good friend, makes the right decision. Unfortunately, she had no plans to run into the last person she wanted to see. But there he was.
Maverick knew right from the start that Kennedy isn’t invited to the wedding. He will make sure that she doesn’t ruin anything. Because the wedding needs to go as planned for his sanity’s sake. Not to mention that his family owned the ranch where it’s taking place. He doesn’t want any kind of drama. And he knows Kennedy is not to be trusted. Or so he keeps telling himself. But is it really the reason he wants to keep an eye on her?
Kennedy and Maverick knew one another in college and hated everything about each other. They were rivals who loved to compete, and neither knew how to back down from a challenge. Now, meeting after years brings back a lot of memories and makes them realize that they might have been wrong about their own feelings. What will happen when they spend more time together and discover the undeniable attraction between them? Are they ready for a future together?
Overall, I found this book to be a page turner and enjoyed every second. It’s a wonderful story and a perfect read for a lazy day.
