Poetry and Books: What else do you need?

 

One of my many fears,

is to find a stranger

in someone I have

known for years.

#

To one day realize,

the person next to me,

isn’t someone

I should idealize.

#

To wake up from a dream,

only to find out

the people next to me,

are not what they seem.

#

One of my many fears,

is to trust someone,

only to wake up,

into the nightmares.

#

To look in the eyes

of someone familiar,

and find an unfathomable stare,

giving away the disguise.

#

To take a leap of faith,

and come crashing down,

falling into an abyss.

never again feeling safe.

#

To have my heart broken,

into tiny little pieces,

by the words

that were left unspoken.

#

One of my many fears,

is not being able

to pick up the pieces left behind

after, the dust of hurt clears.
