Synopsis
Workaholic Lillian Mahoney has given everything to her job. The hugely popular lifestyle show she helped create monopolizes her time, energy, creativity, and anything remotely resembling a life. But all it takes is the show’s womanizing, egomaniac star throwing a massive hissy on live TV to utterly implode Lillian’s career in a New York minute.
Now Lillian’s hiding out in the gorgeous and completely unknown seaside village of Blink, Maine. Out of gas. A stolen wallet. A broken heel. And worse, she’s somehow managed to completely piss off the town’s resident hunk, Caleb Wright. She’ll show that hot, grumpy single father exactly what she’s made of.But Blink isn’t quite what Lillian expects—and neither is Caleb...or his feisty teen daughter she can't help but love. And while her entire life and career are in shreds, Lillian might just discover what happens when she gives her bad first impression a second chance…
Review
It’s a sweet and heartwarming small-town romance novel and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Lillian is a big-city businesswoman having problems at her work, so she hides in a small town. The plan is to stay there for a while and then head back, but the more time she spends at Blink, the more she feels she can’t leave. People there are kind to her and she falls in love with the place. Not to mention one particular grumpy man who keeps following her around.
Caleb doesn’t trust Lillian. She has no apparent reason to be in Blink and yet, there she is pretending as if she isn’t totally out of place. She must have some kind of ulterior motive, or so he thinks. Soon, he is going to realize that he is completely wrong and she might just be the woman of his dreams. But trusting an outsider will not be easy for Caleb.
To anyone watching them (and many people are doing just that), Lillian and Caleb are meant for each other. Now, only if they could realize that before it was too late.
If you enjoy sweet romance with likable characters, then this book is for you. I received a complimentary copy via NetGalley.
