Review: Retrouver by Jordan Elizabeth

Blurb

Felicity Grant traveled to the New World expecting luxury. Instead, she plunged into a land overrun by monsters that crave human flesh.

Felicity's journey for peace takes her across the sea, through the woods, and puts her on a collision course with highwaymen and the most dangerous gambler this side of the valley.

Felicity will do whatever it takes to stop the rotters, even if it means treason.

Review

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, where the author has reimagined history. The New World is thrilling and full of possibilities. But it is also rife with dangerous situations. The rotters are the worst of all. Unlike usual zombie stories, instead of gore and horror, this book focuses on the romance and adventure side of the story. Felicity wants to solve the problem and uses her wit to identify the issue and do something about it. She convinces her husband to help her. She doesn't see the natives as savages and wants to work with them to make the New World a better place. Overall, this book has something for everyone. Whether you enjoy historical fiction, romance, thrillers, or adventures, you will find something to love in this novel. It's the second book in The Rotters series but can be read as stand-alone. I highly recommend it to all readers.

P.S. I received a complimentary copy of the book, but the review is my honest opinion and has nothing to do with the author or the publisher.
