Review: Protecting His Assets by J.K. Coi

Protecting His Assets

Synopsis

CEO Steve Nolan is wealthy, successful, and in danger. Now, thanks to his business partner, he has a bodyguard—a rigid, controlled woman with a smoky voice that invites steamy thoughts of rumpled sheets and oh-so-satisfying sleepless nights. So if Steve has to play the game, he's going to make damn sure he's in charge of the rules...just as long as no one finds out.

April Porter has met incredibly handsome, high-powered men before. Guys just as smooth, who didn't take her seriously, and who broke her heart. So she's just here to do her job and stay focused and professional.
Even if Steve Nolan isn't just another rich jerk.
Even if the sexual spark between them keeps getting hotter.
And even if protecting his business and his ass(ets) means April could lose her heart in the bargain...

5-Stars Review

This book did not start so well, I never thought I'd give it a five stars when I started reading. But after a few chapters the story picked up, it turned very interesting and I got engrossed in reading. Characters started to sound more and more intriguing and there was a sense of mystery which kept me entertained through out. I especially loved the ending, it was really good.

Nolan is a math geek although you won't be able to guess that from his appearance. He can't sit still and keeps himself busy. His company is on the verge of success and suddenly someone wants to harm him. Whoever this person is, it is clear that they have been stalking him. He is in need of a bodyguard...

April is good at her job and she doesn't think guarding Nolan would be a problem at all. But she is in for a surprise. Firstly, he is not a very happy client and seems reluctant to accept her help. Secondly, he is devastatingly handsome and she is attracted to him which causes her to lose foresight. Never a good thing when she is supposed to protect him from potential psychopath.

I loved the chemistry between these two. It was fun to read about their inner battles. There were many complications but in the end they overcome everything and fell in love with each other. Sometimes things you don't expect, happen and that is the best kind of things.
