Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen

"Description"
It’s been so long since Auden slept at night. Ever since her parents’ divorce—or since the fighting started. Now she has the chance to spend a carefree summer with her dad and his new family in the charming beach town where they live.

A job in a clothes boutique introduces Auden to the world of girls: their talk, their friendship, their crushes. She missed out on all that, too busy being the perfect daughter to her demanding mother. Then she meets Eli, an intriguing loner and a fellow insomniac who becomes her guide to the nocturnal world of the town. Together they embark on parallel quests: for Auden, to experience the carefree teenage life she’s been denied; for Eli, to come to terms with the guilt he feels for the death of a friend.

In her signature pitch-perfect style, Sarah Dessen explores the hearts of two lonely people learning to connect.

"Review"
It is one of my most favourite books. The way this book is written is beautiful. there is no other word to describe it. it will touch you heart and leave a permanent mark there. Its a slow paced coming of age story. Which is very entertaining and fun to read as well.
All the characters are perfect, especially Auden. Her parents are divorced and she lives with her mother. One summer while staying with her father she meets Eli. Eli is troubled teen. Who feels guilty for a death of his friend and has yet to come to terms with the tragedy. Both feel a connection and share little adventures together. All the scenes in the book are well crafted and the ending is simply amazing. Exactly what it should be in a coming of age novel.
this book is perfect for teenage readers although adults may enjoy reading it too. After a long time I have found such a treasure. this is my first Sarah Dessen's book and I can see why she is so popular among young readers. you will get completely engrossed while reading this book... All in all its great holiday read!
