Review: Escape from Witchwood Hollow by Jordan Elizabeth

Escape from Witchwood Hollow

Synopsis

Everyone in Arnn - a small farming town with more legends than residents - knows the story of Witchwood Hollow: if you venture into the whispering forest, the witch will trap your soul among the shadowed trees.

After losing her parents in a horrific terrorist attack on the Twin Towers, fifteen-year-old Honoria and her older brother escape New York City to Arnn. In the lure of that perpetual darkness, Honoria finds hope, when she should be afraid.

Perhaps the witch can reunite her with her lost parents. Awakening the witch, however, brings more than salvation from mourning, for Honoria discovers a past of missing children and broken promises.

To save the citizens of Arnn from becoming the witch’s next victims, she must find the truth behind the woman’s madness.

How deep into Witchwood Hollow does Honoria dare venture?

5-Stars Review

A well written story. It is full of mystery and intrigue. Arevolves around place called Witchwood Hollow and three women from three different times. Well-developed characters and engaging circumstances makes it a good read. I enjoyed it a lot and it kept me on my toes until the very end.

Local legends state that it is haunted by a witch who doesn't let anyone leave once they entered these woods. Honoria, who has come from a big city, starts to believe in the legend. She wants to uncover the mystery behind this place and she does but not how she expected. Leon is a friend who shares her passion to learn the truth about Witchwood Hollow. Together they uncover intriguing things about the place.

I loved how the story takes us back and forth through different centuries. A lot of lives are inter-connected through one place. Acts of few people that initiated Witch's fixation of keeping people leads to ruin many life. On the other hand it connects many others. In many ways it was a tragic tale. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. There are so many twists and turn through out the book. And ending was quite unexpected, yet epic! It is a must read for fantasy lovers, a story about magic, love, hatred and revenge. Sometimes the lines are blured and it is difficult to understand which side of the story is dominating and that makes it even more interesting to read.
