Review: Son of Thunder by Libby Bishop

Son of Thunder

Synopsis

Rune is the grandson of Thor, and just as strong. Exiled to the realm of Earth for nearly killing his brother–it was a little misunderstanding– he has to find a way to redeem himself so he can get back to Asgard. And when he lands—literally—in the bed of a fiery redhead with an FBI badge, he realises that she may be the key to going home. But helping Liv hunt a killer has one big consequence—chemistry. He can’t keep his hands off her, and there’s no way they can ever be together.

Six years ago, FBI Special Agent Liv Winter’s best friend was murdered. Since then, she’s taken a two-week vacation around the anniversary of the death to try and solve the case. She’s used every available resource. Yet, her friend’s killer is still on the loose. She refuses to give up—willing to do almost anything to bring the person to justice.

Apparently, almost anything includes trusting a god. And while she might need Rune’s help with her case, there’s no way she’ll ever trust him with her heart.

4-Stars Review

It's an interesting read. I loved both Rune and Liv. Rune is a God, and Liv is human. Both are on the hunt. Liv is looking for her best friend's killer and Rune is helping him to locate the killer. There is a good chance that the murderer is god kin. The more time they spend together the more they're attracted to each other.

Liv might feel attracted to Rune but she cannot trust him, at least not entirely. Rune on the other hand is quite enamoured by the feisty human. For now he is excited because of the hunt. After all the murder case is six years old so it will not be that easy to solve. Now that Liv has help she is feeling more optimistic about it. She has looked for her friend's killer for so long, trying to make sense of her brutal murder, and now it seems that finally she will be able to catch him.

Rune has to redeem himself and return to Asgard after this. So it's better if they don't get too involved...
I enjoyed reading this book. It is packed with mystery, romance, intrigue, and fantasy. A good read for all book lovers.
