Wow! I loved it, it's well-written, and very interesting book. I loved the characters, as well as, the story. It's definitely one of the best historical romances I've read this year.
Chloe has secrets, there are things which she did in her past that will forever haunt her, and make her feel like a fraud. But still she wants her future to be perfect. Love is not what she desires, from her hard times she learned that financial security is the most important thing in life. Therefore, she hopes to marry someone who will provide for her and never leave her like her father did. She never expected to meet someone she can fall in love, but Duke of Cameron is one person she can't stop thinking about....
Michael is plagued with nightmares of war. He knows that marriage, and children are not for him. He can't put someone in harms way because of his fits. So when he meets Chloe and realize how much he wants her, he tries everything to stay away from her. Unfortunately, staying away from said beauty will not be easy... he also needs to think about Henry, he owns his life to young earl's father... so why then he can't seem to stop wanting the woman he shouldn't want?
It's a great book which I enjoyed reading a lot. I think anyone who likes historical romances will find it entertaining.
